  Great little place. Tucked away makes for an adventure getting there. Wines good. Service poor. More interested in stocking his shelves and cleaning. Obviously not interested in serving overseas tourists. Should have a counter person trained to deal with the o/seas visitors and leave him to cleaning.

  Beautiful spot but just such an unfriendly guy. If you do not like talking to people don't have a cellar door. No discussion of the wine and beer at all. Really felt like he did not want us there. Food also disappointing. Kids meals were heated up frozen lasagna. My "whole trout" was just a smoked one out of the fridge. The smoked trout salad was ok. It could be so great but totally disappointing.

  Awesome place. Great beers, great whisky, great food and great staff. Very welcoming, went for lunch and stayed all afternoon

  Second visit because we had such a great time there several years ago. They had this fantastic chef and I remember a whole smoked trout, surf and turf with a great mushroom sauce and chicken breast with mushroom sauce. She came out and talked with us and served us at the cellar door and explained everything about the alcohol on tasting. We took overseas visitors on this visit and what a disappointment. Does anyone know anything about customer service at this place anymore? We felt like we were an inconvenience. The food was not a patch on last time. All that distance to get there and then be welcomed in such a poor fashion and served below average food at ridiculous prices. Never going back.
